Compassionate End-of-Life Support
Providing care and guidance during life's final journey.

Providing care and guidance during life's final journey.
My name is Tracy VanLoon, and I am the heart behind Whispering Winds End-of-Life Doula Services. I bring many years of experience working in healthcare as a Personal Support Worker, where I have had the privilege of supporting individuals and families through illness, aging, and end-of-life care.
Through my work, I have witnessed how meaningful gentle presence, listening, and compassionate support can be during life’s most vulnerable moments. These experiences shaped my calling to become an end-of-life doula—offering non-medical, emotional, and practical support that complements existing care.
I believe no one should feel alone at the end of life. I walk alongside individuals and families with respect, patience, and calm reassurance, honouring personal values, cultural traditions, and end-of-life wishes. My role is to support comfort, clarity, and connection—before, during, and after death.
Whispering Winds serves Norfolk County and surrounding communities, offering steady companionship during one of life’s most sacred transitions.

Our first meeting is an unhurried conversation. I take the time to listen to what's happening now, what feels heavy, and what matters most to you and your family. This may include emotional support, education about the dying process, and gentle guidance around next steps.
This is often where clarity begins.

Giving voice to what matters
I support individuals and families in having meaningful conversations about wishes, values, and preferences of care. This may include
My role is to help ensure these conversations feel safe, respectful, and grounded.

A steady guide during uncertain times
I help create a personalized plan of care that reflects the individual's needs, wishes, and current supports. This living document may include:
This plan can evolve as circumstances change and often becomes a grounding reference for families.

Companioning at the end of life
I offer a gentle, non-medical presence during the final days or hours of life. This may include:
I follow the lead of the individual and family, always with respect and tenderness.

Time to rest, knowing someone is there.
Caregiving can be both meaningful and exhausting. I provide short-term respite support so caregivers can sleep, attend appointments, or step away -- knowing their loved one is being cared for with kindness and dignity.

Honouring a life lived.
I support gentle reflection and legacy work, which may include:
This work can be deeply comforting for both the individual and their loved ones.

Care for the moments just after.
When death occurs, I can offer calm presence and gentle guidance, including:
I move slowly and respectfully, allowing families to lead.

Because every journey is different.
My services are offered hourly or in packages, with sliding scale options available. Support can take place in the home, care facilities, or wherever feels most comfortable.

For patients, caregivers, and loved ones
Serious illness affects everyone. I offer calm, steady presence for:
You don't have to carry this alone.
Whispering Winds End-Of-Life Doula is a non-medical support service rooted in compassion, dignity, and choice. All care is guided by respect for each individual's values and wishes.
